An expert opinion
After being in contact with some experts on mental health awareness in Norway we know that there are many things you can do to spread awareness of this topic, and how to approach it with consideration and respect. The first recommended solution is to talk. Discussing this with people you know not only spreads helpful knowledge, but also helps people understand and become aware of the topic discussed. This also goes for if you know someone suffering or dealing with any of the issues listed on the "factual" page, talking is key in a situation like this. According to these experts, you must also encourage non-judgmental speech, especially because of the fact that ones could get easily offended by being insensitive to such an important topic.
As for helping deal with mental health issues and how to approach the topic, there are also many organisations which provide courses and information on the topic. An example of this is the non-profit organisation called MOT.no. Their goal is to teach adolescents about ethics and to help them overcome common issues people of their age would typically face in life. They also teach about mental health awareness, and they can do this through courses. They provide all sorts of courses both through an existing educational system (like school), or by individual courses. For more information visit their official website.
Other helpful mental health information websites (as well as health in general) include the NHS, the WHO and Mentalhealth.gov.

What you can do now
These are some easy ways of further spreading awareness on the topic of mental health, more specifically in your community:
Talk about it. Ask people how they’re doing and mean it! Always be ready to listen and encourage. Ask questions and never judge.
Read about it. Educate yourself about mental illness and suicide. Learn about the signs and symptoms and where to receive help in your area.
Note: If you see something insensitive or simply rude online relating to mental health in any way, you must do something about it. You can do various thing in this case, such as talking to the owner of the work, requesting for it to be taken down or further reporting it.
In addition to this, you can also help spread awareness by sharing this website to others you know. This will help them understand the subject of mental health a bit better, and the more people take this seriously, the better. We would also appreciate if you gave feedback on this website, so we know what to improve on or change in the future. You can suggest new information, as well as help improve or correct inaccurate data etc. The survey can be found at the bottom of this page.
